The Boy and the Heron (2023)

I'm no film critic and I don't pretend to be. I just like watching movies and writing about stuff I love and I don't post a lot about new movies but I saw this yesterday and it was just beautiful.
In my humble opinion Miyazaki is one of the greatest filmmakers / animators / storytellers mankind has ever known. It felt like a privilege to see a new film by him.
If you are a fan of Miyazaki specifically or Studio Ghibl generally this will not disappoint.
I had no option but to see this film in a chain cinema in a shopping mall. I wish I could have seen it in the beautiful independent cinema that is currently closed in my home city of Aberdeen. If you enjoy my blog please consider making a donation to save this wonderful cinema
