Everyone who reads my blog should be aware what I do is just for the love of it.
My hobby is watching films and writing about them nothing more complicated than that.
Having these little projects is really good for my mental health.
My blog-specific costs are probably a couple of hundred pounds a year but I don’t have sponsors and I don’t ask for money or donations.
So nobody tells me what to say and I’m not in the pocket of “Big Blu-ray” or “Big streaming”
My ethos is to talk about films and filmmakers I love and encourage others to watch films
so I will always make people aware of where they can watch or buy the films I write about.
I am a fan of physical media and I will always encourage people to buy a physical copy of the movies they love.
I am also mindful of the economy and the decline of high streets in the UK so I will always point readers to spend money in HMV or even HMV online rather than anywhere else.
Again… Not a Sponsor!
I either mention streaming services because that is where you will find that specific title or I have signed up for a service and it has impressed me… Never a sponsor!
I have mentioned it from time to time but I love the social media platform “Letterboxd” if you love cinema and you don’t have a Letterboxd account… What are you playing at!
Not a Sponsor! Just something I love.
Finally, if you are a person who enjoys my blog and wants to support me in some way the best way is to make a financial donation to a charity in my home city of Aberdeen Scotland which is currently working on saving and reopening the only independent cinema in the city,
The Belmont Cinema.
If you do contribute it would be great if you let them know it was because of my blog you are chipping in. just to help spread the word about what I do.
