This year for Noirvember I am going to be watching Four Movies that I own on physical media but have never seen!

1.

The Big Heat (1953)

It is an American film noir crime film directed by Fritz Lang starring Glenn Ford, Gloria Grahame, and Jocelyn Brando.

A police officer seems to have committed suicide, but Detective Dave Bannion thinks there's more to the story. After talking to the man's mob-connected mistress, Bannion discovers far-reaching corruption that leads all the way from the police station to kingpin Mike Lagana. But when the policeman's lover is killed, it becomes clear that crossing Lagana is a dangerous thing to do. Soon Bannion finds himself marked for death and his family in mortal danger.

This film is rated 4.1/5 on Letterboxd.

I can't wait!!

2.

Kiss Me Deadly (1955)

This film noir is directed by Robert Aldrich and stars Ralph Meeker, Albert Dekker & Maxine Cooper.

One evening, private detective Mike Hammer picks up a strange woman, who's standing on the highway wearing only a trench coat.

They're stopped farther on by strangers who knock out Mike and murders the woman. Although the police warn Mike not to investigate this by the police, Mike and his girlfriend and assistant, Velda, become ensnared in a dark plot.

This film is hailed as a true classic of the genre.

Should be great and Hackman rarely disappoints.

4.

Directed by the great John Boorman the man who went on to bring us Deliverance (1972), Excalibur (1981) and the wonderful Zardoz (1974) directs this Neo-Noir crime movie, Starring the formidable Lee Marvin as "Walker".

Some great watches are coming my way this month.
