On the 23rd of September 2023, Studio Canal released a 4k restoration of Robin Hardy’s 1973 Folk Horror masterpiece The Wicker Man and I bought it !
It is pretty much my favourite film of all time!
I watched it I loved it but when I went to put it away on a shelf it pained me that I didn’t have “The Other Two” on 4K disc.
What I mean by the other two is that there are three movies that are now viewed as the three best British Folk Horror movies that are affectionately referred to as “The Unholy Trinity”
Witchfinder General (1968)
The Blood on Satan’s Claw (1971)
The Wicker Man (1973)
As you can imagine I was thrilled to find out that the company “88 Films” had purchased and were restoring and remastering the catalogue of the now defunct British film company TIGON, who just so happened to be the company that made Witchfinder General & The Blood on Satan’s Claw.
And now on the 25th of March 2024 Witchfinder General & The Blood on Satan’s Claw.
Are being released on DVD, Blu-ray & 4k UHD Disc.
So amazing! I can’t wait to get them on my shelf!
